How the price is worked out

Each pest has a treatment price for each package. In the sample, mice or rats in a house under 2,000 sq ft are $295 for a one-time treatment and $595 for the seasonal plan. Seeing them regularly adds 25% of the treatment price: $73.75 and $148.75. Sealing the entry points adds $450. Totals are rounded to the nearest $5. That gives $820 and $1,195 before tax.

Heavy activity adds 50% instead of 25%, again of the treatment price only, not of sealing or the larger-home charge. If the customer doesn't know how bad it is, the estimate shows a range from light to heavy. Bed bugs are priced as a setup charge plus a price per room, and aren't offered on the seasonal plan. A pest the customer can't identify goes to an inspection.

What you can change

  • The pests you treat, your packages and the treatment price for each.
  • Your bed bug setup and per-room prices.
  • The activity percentages, the larger-home charge and your sealing price.
  • Your minimum job price and rounding.

What still needs your inspection

Identifying the pest for certain, how far it has spread and where it's getting in. The estimate shows its assumptions and says the price is preliminary.
