How the price is worked out
Each package has an installed price for the 240 V circuit, mounting and testing. In the sample, Install only is $650 and Charger and install is $1,450. Both add the $250 permit and inspection fee and the wire run at $16 per foot, so a 32 ft run is $512. Mounting outside on the house wall adds $200 for weatherproof fittings. Totals are rounded to the nearest $10. That gives $1,610 and $2,410 before tax.
A load management device or a panel upgrade is added only when the customer's panel needs it. If they don't know the distance, the estimate prices a stated 50 ft run. If they're unsure about the panel, it shows a range from no panel work up to an upgrade.
What you can change
- Packages, installed prices and the charger you supply.
- Your rate per foot and the length assumed when the distance isn't known.
- Panel work, outdoor mounting, the permit fee and which locations need a visit.
- Your minimum job price and rounding.
What still needs your visit
The load calculation, the actual wire route and anything behind finished walls. The estimate shows its assumptions and says the price is preliminary.
