How the price is worked out

Each door size has an installed price for each style. In the sample, a double door is $2,300 (Steel), $3,100 (Insulated) or $4,600 (Carriage-style). A row of windows adds $400 on a double door, and a new smart opener adds $750. Removing and disposing of the old door adds $200 to Steel, but it's already part of the other two styles, so they show it as “Included”. That gives $3,650, $4,250 and $5,750 before tax.

Windows on a single door cost less than on a double door. If the customer doesn't know their door size, the estimate shows a range from a single to a double door. Oversized and custom doors ask for an assessment instead of a price.

What you can change

  • Door styles, sizes and every installed price.
  • Window and opener prices, and what each style includes.
  • Which doors go to an assessment.
  • Rounding, and a minimum job price if you want one.

What still needs your visit

Headroom, side room, framing and the electrical outlet for the opener. The estimate shows its assumptions and says the price is preliminary.
